SIM HostingSIM Hosting service is an easy way to receive SMS messages from your clients through a connection to our SMS gateway. In this approach, you can have your own SIM card or a shared one hosted to one of our GSM modems so as to be able to receive SMS. All SMS messages sent to the mobile phone number of the SIM card will be forwarded to your e-mail account, to your mobile phone or to a web page of your preference. The SIM card`s mobile number will serve as a dedicated phone number of your SMS application. To use this service, you have to mail a SIM card to us or if you wish, we can purchase one for you (in this case you will be charged with the cost of the SIM card plus any other expenses that will apply such as shipping, handling etc.). The SIM card will be mounted on one of our GSM/GPRS modems which are connected to our SMS gateway. Our SMS gateway will forward all received SMS messages to your computer using a certain protocol / interface that suits best to your needs; for example HTTP, HTTPS or SMTP (SMS to email). As mentioned above, you also have the choice to use a shared SIM card. In this case we provide you with access to an existing SIM card, that is used also by other customers, for receiving SMS messages. For using a shared SIM card, first you have to specify one or more keywords that will be associated with your SMS application. If an SMS message is received and its text begins with the keyword assigned to you, it will be forwarded to your system using one of the above mentioned protocols that are supported by our SMS gateway. With our SIM hosting service you don't need to buy, set up and manage the necessary equipment in order to start receiving SMS responses from your users. However, you should have in mind that it cannot handle a large amount of incoming SMS traffic. A SIM card has by its nature, limited capability of processing an SMS fast (it is like receiving SMS messages using your own mobile phone). If you wish to use the above service, please note that you must activate the SIM card before you send it to us. Also, you have to check that the operator to which the SIM card belongs, has SMS roaming with at least one operator in Greece where our SIM Hosting facilities are.
